How to Customize Your HoneyBee Pillow
Tips for Optimal Use of Your HoneyBee Pillow
Let Your Body Adjust to the Pillow
It may take a few nights for your body to adjust to a new pillow, especially if it’s different from what you’re used to. Give the pillow at least a week to see how it affects your sleep.
Consider the Room Temperature
Memory foam reacts to ambient temperatures. If your bedroom is very cold, the pillow may feel firmer. Warm your room about 30 minutes before bedtime to soften the material and make it more comfortable.
Proper Pillow Positioning
For side sleepers, it’s important that your shoulders do not rest on the pillow but rather against it. Make sure the pillow starts just above your shoulder to provide optimal neck support.
Adjust the Pillow to Your Personal Preference
The HoneyBee pillow is fully customizable to your needs. You can easily add or remove filling to adjust the height and firmness. Need more filling? You can order a refill pack to further tailor your pillow.
Combine with the Right Mattress
The support of your pillow works best in combination with a mattress that properly supports your body. If your mattress is too firm or too soft, it may affect your pillow experience.
How to Adjust the HoneyBee Pillow for Your Sleeping Position
1. Side Sleepers
Side sleepers need a pillow with enough height and firmness to fill the gap between the head and shoulder, keeping the neck aligned.
Adjustments for Side Sleepers:
- Ensure the pillow is high enough to support the neck. Add extra filling if it feels too low.
- Position the pillow so your shoulder rests against it, not on it, to maintain proper support.
- Check that your head and neck are aligned with your spine.
2. Back Sleepers
Back sleepers need a pillow that supports the natural curve of the neck without pushing the head too far forward.
Adjustments for Back Sleepers:
- Remove some filling to make the pillow lower, allowing the head to rest comfortably backward.
- Ensure even support for the back of the head and neck. Avoid a pillow that is too thick, as it may cause neck strain.
- Position the pillow slightly lower under the head to support the neck curve properly.
3. Stomach Sleepers
Stomach sleepers need a thin and soft pillow to minimize neck strain and maintain a natural posture.
Adjustments for Stomach Sleepers:
- Remove most of the filling to make the pillow as thin as possible, preventing the head from being raised too high.
- Use the pillow only under the head or partially under the shoulder to keep the neck neutral.
- Consider using the pillow for support under the stomach or hips to reduce lower back tension.
4. Combination Sleepers
Combination sleepers frequently change positions and need a pillow that is flexible and adaptable.
Adjustments for Combination Sleepers:
- Experiment with a medium amount of filling that is comfortable for both side and back sleeping.
- Keep a refill pack handy to adjust the height and firmness as your preferences change.
- Ensure the pillow provides adequate support regardless of the position you fall asleep or wake up in.
